Here at The Henley Private Aged Care, our core focus is the comfort and dignity of our residents. Below are some the kind words we’ve received from some of their relatives.
It’s enlightening to find a place of residence that is of the quality and comfort that allows people of all ages and status of health to enjoy the quality of life.
It’s immediately recognised!
Making friends of many through hobbies and past careers, the splendid design of the rooms gives you so much space, and for the not so energetic there are quiet corners of space in the many nooks in the library.
Outings are arranged every Monday for lunch at impressive restaurants of all cultures.
Evenings are reminders of our splendid views of the waterways, reflecting many colours of the moon and the sunny days to follow. Views of many iconic places are seen such as Sea World and Marina Mirage.
Staff are more than happy to guide you at all times for your comfort and enjoyment.
Entertainment is represented in many ways; operas, live shows, Christmas in July, Melbourne Cup and many more. All games are supplied such as billiards, bowls, aquatic pool and card games.
A large theatre is supplied with the latest movies to your liking.
We’re grateful that such a grand building has given us the opportunity for every comfort possible.
Thank you to The Henley for happiness and care that is needed at all stages of like and is fulfilled by the ‘Henley Team.’
To The Henley for Health. Let’s keep on, keeping on!
The Henley offers an environment where residents with varying degrees of care needs can live comfortably and feel well supported. Administration and management staff are very friendly and helpful. Nursing staff provide an excellent service, and routinely go above and beyond to ensure the care needs of residents are met.
We’d like to thank all the management and staff for making the last weeks of Frank’s life as pleasant and comfortable as they could be.
Frank wanted to spend his last days at home, but it came to the stage where his wife, Betty was no longer capable of caring for him, and he was forced to go to a hospital where he was only permitted to stay until respite care was found as there was nothing more they could do for him. The last thing he wanted was to spend his last days in a nursing home, but we were fast running out of options until a friend told us The Henley had recently dedicated the 3rd floor to respite care.
On making enquiries about availability, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the place. There were 12 individual rooms which would rival most 5 star hotels. We were able to select a lovely en-suite room overlooking the Broadwater with verandahs, a kitchenette, table and chairs etc. at a comparable price to a decent nursing home. Frank and Betty were ‘over the moon’ when we told them we were able to get him into The Henley and so were all the family as we had peace of mind knowing that he was in a place that he was happy with and that we had a nice place with a private room to visit him.
The people at The Henley assessed Frank at the hospital and made all the arrangements to move him in, ensuring that they were properly able to care for him with the correct medication and equipment. Once he moved in the quality of the care and personalised service was outstanding. We were able to discuss all his needs with the care concierge who ensured that Frank was given the correct diet and medication and nursing from the same familiar staff.
We were even able to purchase meals to have a family Christmas together in the common lounge and kitchen on the floor at a very reasonable price the week before he passed. During his time the family were able to spend as much time as they wanted with Frank and at the end, Betty spent her days and nights with Frank and was given meals and comfortable sleeping arrangements to enable her to do so.
Good afternoon Vickie,
Having cared for my brother for seven years, we were having a stressful time, so I went to the Doctor with him. A few days later I got a call from his social worker to see if they could visit for an annual check-up. Two RN Social workers arrived, and one spoke to him and said he would probably feel happier being cared for away from the family. The other one told me it would be a better situation all round if I became a sister and not a carer. With our agreement, they rang Maree from Aged Care Choices. Maree arrived two days later and went through all the alternatives with us. We agreed to look at The Henley on Broadwater, so she rang Vickie and made the arrangement for us to visit the next day.
We were warmly welcomed and pleasantly surprised at the elegance of the entire building. A wonderful position overlooking the Broadwater. We were shown the Bistro, exercise room (gym), sports room, swimming pool, bowling green, community room, (where a group were enjoying chair exercises), and the BBQ area which can be enjoyed by family and friends. We looked at a couple of very nice self-contained units in the $400K range. They were very spacious and well set out. If the need arises, you can get help where needed, at a price. We had a lovely lunch before returning home.
We discussed the eventful day with my husband, and it was unanimously decided that my brother would be happy to try The Henley. I contacted Vickie, and we went down the next day. Again, we were warmly greeted by Vickie and introduced to Belinda, the Luminise Trusted Care Solutions Manager and David, an RN. As I have been his career for seven years, it was decided to look at the Level 3 High Care Patient unit in the $600K range. David listened to his life story and took all his health particulars, quietly in the unit, and I relaxed with Belinda and Vickie in the lounge adjoining the nurse’s station and dining room. It was decided that my brother would move into care the following week and try it for a month before making his final decision.
He has been there three months now and is enjoying life better than he has in a long time. Everybody is so friendly, not only to the residents but to us from the moment we arrive to visit. There is undercover visitors parking which makes it so easy when we take him out, and I borrow a wheelchair as he has difficulty walking with post-polio syndrome and major health problems.
Like a hotel room, he is provided with everything from body gel for showering to a toothbrush and toothpaste. All cleaning and laundry is done, and he chooses his meals from the bistro menu. He goes to the bistro on level 1 for meals or the staff bring it to the dining room on level 3 or he has it delivered to his unit. Luminise attends to all medical requirements, they bring medication to the resident at the required time, they do dressings and accompany residents to the medical room on level 1. There is a house call Doctor every week for those who require him, and the chemist delivers all medication to the Luminise staff for distribution. Luminise arranges all appointments for specialists, x-rays, dentists etc., and they notify relatives. If required, they send a carer with the resident and arrange a taxi pick-up to and from the appointment. It is your choice.
We have all costs from The Henley direct debited monthly for his Private Aged Care, General Service, Home Care Package, and a direct debit monthly from Luminise Trusted Care Solutions for client contribution, administration and case management. As I look after my brother’s affairs, I have a copy of the monthly statement emailed to me.
The meals are very enjoyable, and we have lunch if we are there at meal time. The take into account he a diabetic has diverticulitis and is lactose intolerant. He has an RN case manager who he relates to very well so any queries he has he discusses with Leigh. Life is a lot easier knowing my brother is happier and getting the best care in a clean and happy environment. We are assured when the time comes, the initial $600K will be returned to his estate.
At this time we could expect any better outcome, we are grateful for all the help we are given.
